Letter Of Thanks

“To all those involved with America Cares For the Families of Our Fallen Soldiers and Veterans:

First and foremost I would like to thank all of you for your hard work and efforts to reach
out to all the families you have touched. It takes special people to pull together a cause
and send their message out to the community and beyond. Thank you.

I thought you might like to know that your gift(s) touched my heart very deeply during a
very difficult time of the year. Many organizations and individuals have sent several
remembrance items over the past five years at Christmas and Memorial Day. While this
is VERY MUCH appreciated, it does tend to pierce the hole in your heart reminding you
of the loss you live with every day. So, when we receive packages at the holidays from
organizations or folks we do not know, we also receive a delivery of anxiety. I generally
will have my husband open the packages first to audit the contents for me in an effort to
detour the anxiety of grief at Christmas. When he opened yours, he spoke from the
other room “you are going to want to see this”!

Iʼm not sure how you decided what items to send but, I wanted to let you all know that
you accomplished sending comfort in a box, like a much needed hug, rather than a remembrance of the constant grief our families live with every day. I was so relieved to
see that your package items contained items of comfort rather than a focus on grief. My most sincere thanks go out to all of you for a job well done and most appreciated!!

Wishing each and everyone involved a happy and healthy new year.”
